Las ciencias sociales en la encrucijada del poder : Manuel Gamio (1920-1940)

Resumen

This article examines the links between intellectuals and the Mexican political sphere in the 1920's, through the figure of Manuel Gamio. It seeks to show that the link between intellectuals and power influenced the orientation of the social sciences (luring the first half of the 20 century. It suggests that the social sciences neglected the investigation of problems that were not included in the agenda of post-revolutionary nationalism, which prevented the subsequent development of a critical approach.
