Resumen
Objective: To explore the mental health risks in women who expect the return of their partners in the migration context, indetify if these risks are perceived by them and if strategies of self-care, community or institutional care are implemented in relation to stressors. Methods: Qualitative study carried out in 2013 in two communities of San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Life stories were retrieved from 21 women whose partners were actively involved in circular migration processes. Results: It was identified that stressors occur in three dimensions: personal, domestic and public. The most significant stressors were: the possibility of being alone or being supplied by other women in the receiving cities, the permanent evaluation of their mothers' roles (alone) and the moral control of their behaviors. Conclusions: It is pertinent to propose models of nursing care in mental health, linking institutional and community capacities to reduce the vulnerability of these women.
