Perspectivas de la psicología de la salud en Colombia

Resumen

The aim of this article is to offer a brief historical review of the development of health psychology, its inception and its emergence as an applied area of psychology, especially in Colombia. Initially its states the differences and synergies between areas like clinical psychology and behavioral medicine to finally reach the concept of health psychology, its development and applications to a variety of phenomena and related problems in the health/disease\nprocess. It deals also with the description of the principal events leading to its emergence and development in Colombia until the present days COLCIENCIAS sponsored groups in the area. It considers as well the projection of psychology in the Colombian health situation reflecting on the positive aspects that can be improved.
