Resumen

The chemical composition of the essential oil from leaves of Croton wagneri Müll. Arg. grown in Ecuador was studied. A total of 135 volatile compounds were identified in the essential oil, of which the most prominent were cis-chrysanthenol (27.5%) and myrcene (19.2%). Furthermore, we assessed the antioxidant properties using the DPPH and the ferric reducing antioxidant power assays and found that the extract had a moderate scavenging effect.
