Resumen

Objective: to describe and analyze the asociated factor to the use of health services in mexico starting with data gotten in 2002. Method and material: information source; national enquiry of performance evaluation 2002, whose main design was a probabilistic, polyetapic, stratisfied, conglomerated sampling, with national representativity, applied at homes. For performing this study, sociodemographic variables, health condition, use of ambulatory and hospital service and type of hospital were chosen; for the information analyses frequency and percentages were described and a model of logystic regression was made. Results: the highest proportion of use of ambulatory and hospital services was present in the 25-44 years of age group; women; urban population inhabitants; low and middle socioeconomical level, with basic and high school education; living in regions with low and high degree of margination. The regression model showed most hospitalization probability in users aged 18-44 years, women, with high school education living in urban areas and regions with low and high conclusion: the pattern of use of health services in mexico during the study period, were found associated with sociodemographyc factors of economical development and the offer of health services.
