Resumen

This paper aims to determine the impact in the productivity of the Ecuadorian companies when migrating to a business process management model. The research within this paper determines the origin and evolution of business process management, the actual economic situation of Ecuador is analyzed, the current situation of business process management inside the Ecuadorian companies and public institutions, as well as the point of view of experts and CEOs is researched, and, for last, the implementation process of the business process management model, its results and its perception inside the Ecuadorian companies is analyzed. It seeks to establish the role that plays business process management in the development of the Ecuadorian companies as well as its role against the current situation, both locally with the productive matrix change strategy.
