Santos nómadas cosmopolitas: los nuevos espacios circulatorios de los santos patronos locales

Resumen

Globalization has led to the intensification of migratoryflows, creating new types of relations with different livingspaces, thereby producing new territories of circulation. Inthis context there are new systems of meaning that transformtraditional religious practices. This process of transformationgenerates fundamental pillars in the construction of transnationalpractices and multilocated identities. In this work,we deal with this phenomenon from the Mexico-UnitedStates migratory experience. To do it, we take into accountthe new meanings involved in the worshipping of “local”patron saints within contemporary spheres of circulation.
