Asimilación tecnológica en el proceso de migración de software en la industria petrolera

Resumen

This article aims to give an outline of the investigation "Technology Assimilation in Software Migration Process in the oil industry, whose purpose was to analyze the assimilation of technology in the process of migration from proprietary to free software in the Venezuelan Oil Industry. To which are considered necessary background checks relating to the study area, as well as conceptual theories most relevant to the assimilation of technology. The development of the methodology is based on the theoretical basis of Nieto (2007), Cacique (2008), Hernández and others (2003), being the type of research used descriptive design transactional field. Considering a population consisting of the departments attached to the Application Maintenance Management in the Western regions, Metropolitan and East with 63 key informants. For data collection instrument was used type Likert scale questionnaire consisting of 48 items. The instrument was brought to trial of Technology Management 5 experts for its validity and reliability were conducted using correlation coefficient method, Cronbach Alpha, which I throw r = 0.82, being the reliable tool to be applied. The results revealed shortcomings in the technology assimilation in the process of migration from proprietary to free software being moderate degree of assimilation, also the activities and experiences in solving problems related to operation and maintenance are documented but are continually revised not set a schedule for the dissemination of technological information and do not spread the benefits of the software to employees of the corporation. Similarly it was found a deficiency in training, there are no programs for staff, completed when not effectively assimilate the technology leads to dependence on technology suppliers and if we do not know fully what we use, we will not know that another application or improvement can be given. As part of the process of assimilation of technology, the company should train personnel to be used or that will interact, sooner or later, with technology in the software migration process.
