COMUNICAR LA CIENCIA. PERSPECTIVAS, PROBLEMAS Y PROPUESTAS

Resumen

This article presents the main conclusions of a research on the process of communication of science which\ntakes place at �Mundo Nuevo, Program for Education and Popularization of Science� at the National University of La\nPlata, in Argentina. The study considers this case in order to review concepts and practices that affect the relationship\nbetween scientists and society. Based on the terms that relate both fields it examines their relevance as feasible processes\nto be planned. It also analyzes the implications of the communication in the sciences to outline three fundamental\naspects: the languages, the scientific method, and the restricted perception that people have of the importance of\ndissemination. Finally, we propose the notion of �public communication� as the best way to improve the development,\nimplementation and efficiency of science and technology.
