Resumen

The global migration phenomenon may be one of the social determinants of state development in the 21st century. According to data from the International Organization for Migration (IOM, 2014), more than 200 million people live outside their country of origin, meaning that approximately one person out of 30 in the world is a migrant. With the previous scenario, this paper proposes a review of the migration process as a global phenomenon, analyzing different theoretical approaches and contemplating the analysis of some specific concepts that are handled on the particular. However, in the development of the research emphasis will be placed on one of the non-traditional aspects of migration, such as return migration, seen from the perspective of those Colombians with some level of academic training who returned to Colombia Between 2007 and 2014 from Spain influenced by economic reasons.
