In this first release of a series of related articles, the author describes (using clinical vignettes), the different factors that turnsthe Argentinian health administration into a “tragedy” (in this case, shortcomings related to the lack of regionalization and healthcare levels). He describes, in turn, how the structure and proper use of available resources could lead to consolidate an effi-cient and cost effective national health system.
