Los cuerpos doblegados: el linchamiento en la literatura mexicana

Resumen

La articulación de la violencia en México en torno al linchamiento acusa una robusta bibliografía sociológica e histórica pero no literaria. Debido a su espectacularidad en cuanto forma de violencia, la representación de los linchamientos ha sido dejada de lado, favoreciendo, más bien, narrativas en torno al crimen organizado, a la migración o a la corrupción e impunidad del Estado mexicano. Este artículo analiza el fenómeno y su representación en ciertas obras de la literatura mexicana y ofrece un análisis crítico sobre cómo diversos escritores han procesado el linchamiento. Además, la intersección entre ley, impunidad y Estado representa una oportunidad para ver cómo la erosión institucional en México no solo abarca temas de narcotráfico y su relación con el Estado, sino que incluye otros actores que se encuentran en el límite de la supervivencia: ciertas comunidades que desconfían de la autoridad, llevando al límite la lógica neoliberal como forma de defensa ante amenazas externas. y que deciden castigar los delitos según sus propios códigos sociales. The articulation of violence around lynching in Mexico has a robust sociological and historical bibliography but not a literary one. Due to its spectacular nature as a form of violence, the representation of lynching has been neglected in favor of narratives involving organized crime, migration, or the corruption and impunity of the Mexican state. This article analyzes lynching and its representation in certain works of Mexican literature and offers a critical analysis of how selected writers have processed it. In addition, the intersection between law, impunity, and the state represents an opportunity to see how institutional erosion in Mexico not only encompasses issues of drug trafficking and its relationship to the state, but also includes other actors at the fringe of survival, that is, certain communities that distrust authority, taking neoliberal logic to the limit as a form of defense against external threats, and that decide to punish crimes according to their own social codes.
