Resumen

An analysis of constitutional reforms in Ecuador reveals their significant impact in several areas of the country. In the political sphere, the reforms have strengthened the executive branch, altered the parliamentary structure, reformed the electoral system and increased citizen participation. However, the concentration of power in the executive has been criticized for limiting the autonomy of other branches of government. In the economy, reforms seek to diversify the economy and reduce dependence on oil, with mixed results and challenges in financial sustainability. Human rights and social justice have been expanded, ensuring fundamental rights such as education and health, although their implementation faces obstacles. Reforms have also included principles of environmental sustainability, with tensions between economic and environmental objectives. Reactions to the reforms have been mixed, creating political and social polarization. In the long term, a comprehensive approach that promotes citizen participation, strengthens democratic institutions, and ensures effective and sustainable implementation is essential.
