Relaciones de poder al interior de un equipo interdisciplinario de salud

Resumen

This is an explorative and descriptive research, made on members of a Teenage Program from a semi public University / Hospital in Buenos Aires. The objective of this research is to find out each member’s valuation of the different disciplines presented in the program, with a special focus on how the disciplines are structured in a hierarchical way by the own team members and try to hypotheticallyestablish why this differentiation is made. The field work was based on semi-structured interviews with a group of different professional members of that inter-disciplinary team and participative observation of their area meetings. Although a big part of the medicine doctors introduced themselves as professionals engaged with a non traditional approach to medicine, based on a wide psycho-bio-social concept of health, the research work helps showing that many times they apart the social scientist team’s members off the practice, and their contributions are not equally considered in the program. The project also shows the medicine doctor’s strategies to legitimate themselves in front of other professional and get consensus, and what effects on the program’s recipients these strategies have.
