Efecto de la migración internacional México-Estados Unidos: hogares con vínculos migratorios y su caracterización en cada país

Resumen

Este articulo tiene como objetivo construir y caracterizar tipologias de hogares con vinculos migratorios: cinco tipos en Estados Unidos y tres en territorio mexicano. Estas tipologias contribuyen a probar tres hipotesis planteadas en torno a los recientes flujos y volumenes de migrantes entre ambos paises: i) los hogares con vinculos migratorios en Mexico han aumentado presumiblemente debido a la migracion de retorno, sea esta voluntaria o forzada; ii) los hogares con vinculos migratorios en Mexico y en Estados Unidos cuentan con una mayor presencia de jefatura femenina; iii) presumiblemente, se han incrementado los hogares con vinculos migratorios en Estados Unidos debido a la politica de cierre y militarizacion de fronteras, que ha forzado a muchos mexicanos a permanecer en ese pais. Abstract This article aims to build and characterize types of households with migratory links: five types in theUnited Statesand three forMexico. Through this construction it is possible to test three hypotheses about recent flows and volumes of migrants between the two countries: i) households with migratory ties in Mexico have increased presumably due to return migration, whether voluntary or enforced ; ii) households with migratory ties in Mexico and the United States have a greater presence of female-headed; iii) presumably migrant households with ties in the United States have increased due to the closure policy and militarization of borders that has forced them so stay permanently in the country.
